Emily Doreen Atkinson
Emily is a trained classical singer, musical theatre teacher and choral director. She holds a DipLCM in Musical Theatre and an ALCM in Classical Singing amongst other musical qualifications.
Emily has trained at prestigious institutions including the Sheffield Music Academy and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama based in London which have instilled skills in practical and performance technique. She is an upcoming Classical student at Leeds College of Music. She also leads St Paul’s Community Choir in Rotherham which has 25 members and counting. Emily specialises in teaching acting, singing, and Musical Theatre to children aged between 5 and 18 at JustDance Studio in Chapeltown.
Emily has thrived performing for years. Her experience has included many Concerts and individual recitals. She’s performed in many Musical Theatre Productions, in Choirs and worked as an instrumentalist in Orchestras and Ensembles. She is invited to perform at weddings, and has been a featured soloist in several Choral works.
Privately, Emily’s lessons focus on singing Classical, Musical Theatre and Pop technique as well as performance etiquette skills. She encourages the learning of music theory and musicianship.With Musical Theatre Students, she can also look at Acting and Voice. Whether to boost confidence and technical ability, or aiming towards exams and auditions, Emily will work with individuals to reach the best of their capability. She understands obstacles singers face and will focus on making students more confident, comfortable and versatile in their voices.
